We Heard You — Dynamic Content Wins!

Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent survey about how we should build pages like Services, Projects and Team.

Over the past few months we asked a simple question to visitors of our site: should we use the new Dynamic Content feature in SP Page Builder in our templates for common page types, or keep using the classic approach (one page for listings and one page per item)? The response was overwhelmingly in favour of Dynamic Content.

Here are the final tallies from the poll:

Why we use Dynamic Content for our Joomla templates & themes

As the survey was ongoing we already started shifting towards Dynamic Content. Based on your feedback, we’ll continue to use this feature wherever it makes sense: pages that list items (like services, projects, team members etc) and the corresponding detail pages will be powered by Dynamic Content feature inside SP Page Builder. This has several immediate benefits for your Joomla site and the templates/themes we maintain:

  • Consistency: using dynamic templates reduces layout drift between listing and detail pages, so every project, service, or team member looks and behaves the same across the site.
  • Faster updates: a single collection change propagates to all items, which is a huge win when updating designs, copy, or structured content.
  • Cleaner templates: our Joomla templates and themes will be simpler to maintain because fewer bespoke pages are required, and the dynamic approach encourages modular, reusable components.
  • Better performance and SEO: Dynamic Content lets us create well-structured output that’s easier to cache and index, improving both speed and findability for the content you care about.

We will not use it everywhere though — in some cases the classic one-page-per-item approach is still the right choice. However, based on the survey and our assessment, dynamic content collections will be the default for listings and item detail pages whenever the content structure fits.

Once again, thank you to all the contributors who voted — your voice is always heard. We’re committed to making our Joomla templates and themes better, faster, and easier to work with.
